The flayer forest

The knacker's shop in Wusterhausen's "Schinderwald" may not have been set up here until the 19th century. Until then, it was on the property of the Scharfrichterhaus at what is now Fischerstraße 7.

The processing of fur, hooves and other parts of the animals caused unpleasant odors. From the middle of the 19th century more and more was produced in the knacker's shop and the neighbors - not only in Wusterhausen - felt bothered by it. So the company was relocated to the former Sandberg and existed there until the 1960s.
