In 1995, an impressive volunteer group of comrades was able to put the newly built fire brigade building into operation. In the spring of 2011, the Barsikow fire brigade received a modern vehicle. Unfortunately, in the years that followed, the group of volunteers was reduced to just a few people due to age and work. The active comrades including the new fire engine are stationed in Nackel today. In 2022, Barsikow received a fire-fighting water cistern on the site of the fire brigade building.
The village association "Barsikow eV" agreed with the community to use the building. A village meeting point has emerged.
