Timeless
Franziska Zänker: "Who doesn't know it: this light, carefree attitude to life, the timelessness of summer. A perceived little piece of eternity that never seems to end. Since the end of the 19th century, tourists have come to the lakes in Wusterhausen alongside locals to find exactly that. Swimming in the bathing establishment - in the 1920s there were still strict moral rules - and on the campsites is still an important part of Wusterhausen life in the warm months. In order to relax in the summer to freshen up, bathing in natural waters and moving life to the countryside are indispensable in Brandenburg. I grew up with it in Neuruppin and the surrounding area and, like many others, appreciate it every summer."

Franziska Zänker works freelance as a wood designer and graphic artist. After training as a carpenter, she studied wood design at the Schneeberg University of Applied Arts (Saxony) from 1999 to 2003. She graduated as a graduate designer (FH) and as the best in her class. In addition to her artistic work, she trained as an art therapist with a focus on trauma therapy from 2012 to 2016. The art therapy work was carried out part-time from 2012 to 2020 in the oncology and psychosomatic department at the Ruppin-Brandenburg University Hospital.
Since 2020, she has been concentrating on artistic work again. One focus is playing with designed surfaces made of wood or paper that conquer three-dimensionality on their own. Surfaces, structures and layers are another theme that takes up the personally experienced complexity and condensation of life with overlays and (color) nuances.
